FAQs

Can I claim the Child Care Rebate?

Yes, as of 30 January, 2017, we are operating as an approved provider for CCB/CCR purposes. Also, coworking fees (charged separately) are tax deductible for members running their own business.

Why is there a bond?

There is a bond of two weeks' fees payable upon receiving an offer of a childcare place at Happy Hubbub. The bond secures your child's place at Happy Hubbub and preferred days / sessions. The bond is refunded when the child ceases care, or may be used to pay the final two weeks' fees. The bond (or part thereof) may be retained by Happy Hubbub if a family is unable to pay any outstanding fees. The bond is nonrefundable if a family chooses not to take up their place.

Am I locked into a contract?

No. We know that managing your work and childcare needs is an ongoing, dynamic balancing act. There is a 30-day notice period for ceasing childcare or reducing regular days.

What do I need to bring to the Hubbub?

For your child: sufficient nappies, wipes, a change of clothes, sun hat or jacket (seasonal), water bottle or prepared bottles of formula/EBM. Breastfeeding mums are welcome to use our comfy nursing chairs in the creche at any time.
For you: your laptop and charger. That is it!

Will I be disturbed by other people's children?

No! The childcare and coworking areas are separate: there will be no kids wandering through the coworking space. Furthermore, the outdoor play area is located away from concentrating coworkers.

Can I leave the premises with my child in care?

Absolutely, we are a fully licensed childcare provider and you are under no obligation to remain on-site. We understand that sometimes you will have off-site business meetings to attend, or errands to run.

Do I have to be a coworker to use Hubbub childcare?

Yes, families using Hubbub childcare need to be part of the coworking community; however, you do not have to cowork every day your child is in care. (E.g. you could have your child enrolled 3 days a week but cowork one day.)

I do not need the childcare. Can I still use the space?

Yes, of course! Coworking is just $22 per day, and private offices start at $110 for a casual day and get progressively cheaper per day the more you use them.
